  1. Sometimes I have to work heavily with data in tables, and I use the Attributes for this. By incident I found that the attributes can be shown as a table in the top section of the text editor. Today I spent half an hour or more to re-create this view - it does not show up in "Window", not in "View > Attribute", not in context menu for text editor - but is deeply hidden in Tools > Form Editor > check box Show form", and no hint even in "Help".
Could you - please - make this feature easier…

  2. Keyword tagging in the photo-management programs, Lightroom 5 and IMatch 5, allowing the use of pre-made keyword lists (called "Controlled Vocabularies" are well-implemented. These hierarchical, nested keywords are very easy to apply and re-arrange when needed.

The hierarchical keywords lists used in these programs can be exported and edited if needed. User should be able to select multiple documents and assign one or more keyword-tags at the same time.

  3. what:
Most desktop applications have skins. It would be nice to see skins on MyInfo, too.

    benefits:
Skins create a pleasant visual setting for the user and can increase one's productivity with the program.

    implementation:
I guess you could easily copy the most often used skins in most application at the beginning then allow users to contribute their own skins. TreeDBNotes even has its own skin editor (http://www.mytreedb.com/view_downloads/m-soft/i-75.html).

  5. I'd love to see an additional form of document creation where as I'm typing, I can use a special tag to tell MyInfo to create a new document with this title I typed. For example, using //My New Document// or ||My New Document|| would create the document and a link to that document. It disrupts my train of thought when I have to stop, create the document I want, then link to it. For another reference, check the 1:10 minute mark of this video... http://help.obsidianportal.com/kb/getting-started/the-wiki .

  9. I store key information (words) in my Document Titles - and it would be great if the FIND function (Ctrl-F) searched the Document Titles (in addition to the Document text).

  12. Right now, columns can be re-arranged except that the item always has to be the left-most column. I suggest allowing other columns be allowed to move to the left of the item (as other programs do).

Advantage: when I have a list of ratings, priorities for items it's much cleaner and easier to read them if they're to the left of the item. When they're to the right, you have move your eyes way over and way back for each item. It really makes a difference in ease of reading.

  13. User can select portions sections of text and apply a keyword to that entire section. Ideally, each keyword/tag would appear in a margin and indicate using parentheses each section of text that is coded with a particular keyword.

By performing a search/analysis, all sections of text coded with particular keywords can be brought together in summary reports.

This would allow MyInfo to function as a QDA (Qualitative Data Analysis) application. Low cost QDA tools just dont' really exist (other than SilvaElm's amazing SENSE program).

This would strengthen its use as a data-sorting, cataloguing and analysis tool, and should attract researchers…

  14. what:
    - please enable Shift + Enter shortcut combination for creating a new child branch and Enter for a new sibling branch. This is possible in KeyNote.

    benefits:
    - it feels so much more ergonomic on the fingers!

    implementation:
    - should be fairly easy?

  15. The web clipper needs improvment. I have mentioned this many times on the forum. While MyInfo's web clipping tool is good, it is not nearly as powerful as the clipper tools that come with UltraRecall or InfQube. UltraRecall's clipper allows the user to clip parts of web pages and store it the database. The clippings look exactly like the original info on the webpage with all formatting preserved. UltraRecall allows the user to edit the clipped data, highlight sections, delete parts.

MyInfo would benefit from a powerful web-clipping tool like this. I know they are available as the one used…

  16. Please add a word count feature. This is implemented in TreeDBNotes and works like this: The user highlights a block of text and the counter shows how many words and characters/letters are in that block. This is very useful to writers, writers, editors and researchers who need to keep within strict word limits.

  18. what:
    - I would like to see a setting for defining the size of tabs so that one can make them as large as needed/ comfortable, as well as the size of font inside;

    benefits:
    - tiny tabs make navigation difficult, especially when there's a lot of them and add visual strain. Large computer screens are already a standard, so we should be able to benefit from bigger tabs.

    implementation:
    - I thunk it would best to implement this as a setting, so that everybody could decide the comfortable size of tabs and font inside for himself

  20. what:
    - import from TreeDBNotes is now possible via workaround: you export a tree from TreeDBNotes as Files and folders and then import it into MyInfo from that format. This is very slow though as you need to export trees tab by tab and sometimes some bugs appear throughout the process. It would be nice if we had direct and fast import.

    benefits:
    - even though TreeDBNotes has some amazing features (not yet available even in MyInfo) and has set the bar too high as a whole, it is not being maintained any more. Its author shut down the user…
