prompt for where web import should be placed
When you have a web clipping it would be nice to have a prompt as to where you want it placed in the MyInfo file. This is instead of (or in addition to) having a default location where all web clippings go.

being able to "protect" entries
especially the "tick" kind: one may avoid to change them unvoluntarily by clicking on them while browsing in the tree pane.

Implement hierarchical keywords similar to Lightroom 5/ "controlled vocabularies.
Keyword tagging in the photo-management programs, Lightroom 5 and IMatch 5, allowing the use of pre-made keyword lists (called "Controlled Vocabularies" are well-implemented. These hierarchical, nested keywords are very easy to apply and re-arrange when needed.
The hierarchical keywords lists used in these programs can be exported and edited if needed. User should be able to select multiple documents and assign one or more keyword-tags at the same time.

Add skins
what:
Most desktop applications have skins. It would be nice to see skins on MyInfo, too.benefits:
Skins create a pleasant visual setting for the user and can increase one's productivity with the program.implementation:
I guess you could easily copy the most often used skins in most application at the beginning then allow users to contribute their own skins. TreeDBNotes even has its own skin editor (http://www.mytreedb.com/view_downloads/m-soft/i-75.html).12 votes -

Better OLE support
Currently when I insert an equation or visio object, there is a gray background to it. The bitmap image shown does not have good resolution and does not scale well. I would like to see a white or no background for inserted objects and display a scalable image that has high resolution. An inserted visio or equation object in MyInfo should look as good as when it is inserted into Word. This will make MyInfo an unbeatable tool for students/lifelong learners.

Have a way to create a form inside the document window and clone it in subdocuments.
In effect this could be a means to create fields in an easy format, maybe even allow defining the fields. This way not all tree entries need to have all the same attributes or attributes showing.

Hide the completed tasks in the outline view.
Keep the task associated with their project / parent. This would allow you to have a complete record of all of the tasks and info associated with the project without having to look at the completed items unless you wanted to. I realize that this view can be achieved with a filter, but you do not have the same editing options available as the outline view offers.

copy from outlook
Make it easy to create tasks from Outlook messages that have follow-up flags. Similar to the IE "Send to" plug in, it could set priority, creation date and due date, if any, based on the flag.

Clone by right-clicking a tree item
Please include "Clone" in the right-click menu option (when right-clicking on a tree item). You've got Cut, Copy, Paste ... why not Clone? It's annoying and cumbersome to have to go to Insert and navigate the entire tree to find the item I want to clone. If I can simply right-click and item and choose Clone, then I can move the clone wherever I want. Or better, have another right-click menu option to "Paste clone".

Improve copy/paste into Thunderbird email
When copying content from MyInfo into Thunderbird email, the formatting is lost. In order to copy to Thunderbird, I'm forced to copy first to MS Word, then to Thunderbird email.

QDA (Qualitative Data Analysis) feature- User can select portions sections of text and apply a keyword to that entire section.
User can select portions sections of text and apply a keyword to that entire section. Ideally, each keyword/tag would appear in a margin and indicate using parentheses each section of text that is coded with a particular keyword.
By performing a search/analysis, all sections of text coded with particular keywords can be brought together in summary reports.
This would allow MyInfo to function as a QDA (Qualitative Data Analysis) application. Low cost QDA tools just dont' really exist (other than SilvaElm's amazing SENSE program).
This would strengthen its use as a data-sorting, cataloguing and analysis tool, and should attract researchers…

Drag and drop a link to a document and paste into another document
MyInfo documents can be seen as parts of a hypertext. To be really effective would need to have the ability to copy a link to a document - with the link + text of the linked document - inside another document. Better still , would be to have this feature as drag ad drop. This would also reduce some of the need filled by the cloning.

Tag cloud for all topics (opt. popup or overlay window)
Since sometimes selecting existing tags is more efficient I'd suggest to have a tag cloud/ list for alle existing topics also. An ideal solution for me would be a tag cloud like in delicious as a popup or overlay window

Translation
Export ALL "voices" of interface in a external file [i.e a txt file or same that can be edited with a editor].
I suppose that each user of myInfo is candidate for to be volunteer for translate in proper language the interface and... You have a big international package.
Note: the translation must be send you and you can approve the new language including it in a separate download.
I think that is a big effort, but this increases the value [already big] of your software.7 votes -
Scripting language
Examine text (searches), topic, document names, attributes using simple boolean expressions. Process branching, looping, goto/subroutines. Something like a primitive BASIC. Allow creation of topics (?), documents, tasks, attributes.
